What to see in Mont-de-Marsan

In addition to its modernity, Mont-de-Marsan is a city rich in culture and history. It’s its medieval facet that attracts the curious. Situated between the Douze and Midou rivers, the coquillère gently invades the landscape. Indeed, the square is lined with golden-colored stone before you reach the Musée Despiau-Wlerick. This is where sculptures by Montois artists are exhibited. However, other lost statues are displayed outdoors in the Botanical Gardens. They are quite scattered and make up the beauty of the city. The Mont-de-Marsan’s three distinct bookshops are also noteworthy. The Lacoste bookshop, for example, is the place to go for decorative objects. You’ll find many original items that can be used as souvenirs of the place. Then there’s the Caractères bookshop, which owes its reputation to its location: a former garage. Wooden shelves and a soft ambience make the place warm and inviting. Last but not least, the Bulle d’encre bookshop is worthy of a big city. This is where you can find the world’s greatest knowledge, as it has many themed books for young and old alike.

What to do in Mont-de-Marsan

Beyond the medieval era, Mont-de-Marsan is a city with a vision of tomorrow. The stores in the city center are proof of this. It’s a shopping center where the weekly Saint-Roch market is held every Tuesday and Saturday. It is much appreciated by the residents. We also recommend sampling the local cuisine. Typical cakes are delicious, such as tourtière or pastis, ideal for dessert.

Then there are the macaroons. Its 12 fragrances will give you a wide choice to suit your taste. A stroll along the Midouze is very soothing.

It offers a breathtaking view of Mont-de-Marsan. For those wishing to immortalize their stay in photos, a better angle can be had at sunset. Mont-de-Marsan: the must-sees :
